The Theme
This year, the theme for World Book Day was magic! During lessons, the girls enjoyed magic-themed activities such as designing Hogwarts bedrooms and reading and studying ‘Dracula’. Over the year groups we have been interpreting magic differently. In Years 5 and 6, we have been studying the science fiction element. We have been studying different texts such as ‘Frankenstein’, ‘Dracula’ and ‘The Lady of Shalott’!

Literary Quiz
The literary quiz was a quiz for Year 5 and 6 pupils from different School Houses to take part in. The girls were given an assessment based on their knowledge of books. The girls who scored the highest mark in the assessment were given four books to read before World Book Day. Today, the girls took part in a quiz with six rounds. There was one round for each book and two other rounds about general literary knowledge.

The Masked Reader
The masked reader was a chance for the teachers at our school to show off their talent for being secretive! In form times, the students have been watching videos of our school teachers performing a poem. The teachers have to put on a funny voice and dress up! It’s been a brilliant chance for all the staff to get involved in the Book Week fun!

Costumes
All the girls in the school got to be creative and make their own magic costumes. The girls were encouraged to make their clothes recyclable!
