Welcome Back!

Welcome Back!

We are delighted to welcome back our girls to school for the start of the Summer term!

The whole Ken Prep team have been hard at work preparing for this term and we are excited to continue providing our girls with an engaging and enriching learning experience.

A new term always means new beginnings, doesn’t it? Well, here are all the exciting things happening in our Ken Prep Summer term.
First of all, one thing everyone should be looking forward to is Sports Day! Our school PE teachers always set entertaining tasks for us, encouraging us to have lots of fun and to go out of our safety zones.
Next up is the Year 4 residential trip! As a Year 5, I had the pleasure of going on the Bushcraft trip last year. We had a spiffing time and I’m sure they will have a phenomenal time too – doing all kinds of things from toasting marshmallows to making their very own pencil!
The Year 5s are also going on a residential trip to the Isle of Wight! There they will try out all sorts of water sports like sailing and canoeing. I caught up with Ariadne (5N) so let’s see what she thinks!
“What are you excited about for the Isle of Wight trip?”
“Well, I love water sports and have already tried some things out before, so hopefully I will be able to successfully try out some other water sports there!”
“Wow, thanks for your opinion, Ariadne!”
We will find out when we go on Monday 1 May! (My opinion is that the trip won’t be vapid)!
Before that though, Year 6 are going to Spain! They will tour around Spain knowing some of the language as Spanish is taught at school. This is only the second residential trip since lockdown!
Last but not least, there is the Cadogan Hall Summer Concert! We are learning a whole range of songs, including ‘When I Grow Up’ from ‘Matilda the Musical’ and the well-known song ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ from ‘Encanto’ (Movie) sung in SPANISH! Ms Rattenbury, the Head of Music, will be getting us ready for even more songs, which of course we will all enjoy singing!
Girls, get ready for the burst of activities coming your way this summer term! I’m all prepared, so shouldn’t you be too?
