KPS Book Day

KPS Book Day

Our Author in Residence joined us for the day with writing workshops and judged the array of costumes and the intricate story-boxes girls had made which were spectacular.

KPS Book Day this week was a great success. The costumes on display were wonderful, and we were all delighted by the level of effort that had gone into the story-box gallery. In assembly we were treated to a lovely recital of ‘The Little Red Hen’ by the KS1 storytelling club, and a thought-provoking talk on the power of fairy tales and imagination by our Author in Residence Helen Peters. Helen went on to run writers’ workshops for KS2, and is looking forward to spending time with our younger girls in the summer term. Some classes engaged in paired reading to further share a love of books across the school. An exciting cross-curricular project – to design and make a maths-based picture or pop-up book – kept the girls happily occupied for the rest of the day.
