We were the first independent day school to be opened by the GDST in January 1873 (then known as the Chelsea School) and have been a pioneer in girls’ education for over 150 years.

From starting out with 20 girls at Durham House in Chelsea to having over 290 pupils at our school in Fulham, we have remained committed to providing girls with an education where they can learn without limits.

Among our former pupils are inspirational women such as the suffragette campaigner, Emily Wilding Davison who threw herself under the King’s horse at the races, and Madeleine Albright, who was US Secretary of State from 1997 to 2001.
