The Great Fire of London
Year 2 took part in an unforgettable History lesson, where the girls watched a recreation of the Great Fire of London!
After building their fantastic cardboard houses, we organised them to look like the crowded London streets of 1666. Then, in a safe and controlled environment, we set the houses alight.
The visual demonstration showed the girls exactly how quickly the fire spread through the tightly packed wooden houses. It was a great way to add to the girls’ understanding of the scale and impact of this historical event.
