Black History Month
We celebrated Black History Month in our assembly this week. Throughout history, black people have made huge contributions to society in the fields of art, music, science, literature and many more areas.
Throughout history, black people have made huge contributions to society in the fields of art, music, science, literature and many more areas. In our assembly we thought about some key figures in history such as Mary Seacole, Harriet Tubman, Lilian Bader, Rosa Parks and Dr Martin Luther King Jr, and shared with the girls a part of Dr Martin Luther King’s famous “I have a dream” speech.
