Entry to Kensington Prep at all levels is selective and offers of places are based on assessment of academic potential and ability - regardless of religion, ethnic background and beliefs.
Registrations are now being taken for 4+ entry into Reception and 7+ entry for September 2011.
You may register your daughter for entry at 4+ or 7+ at any time from when she is born up to 18 months before the September she is due to start school. If interested please download the Registration Form below, and return the completed form to Kensington Prep. No fee is required at this stage. Occasionally places also become available higher up the school. Please contact Mrs Joanna Bonner, School Registrar on 0207 731 9300 to find out about availability.

Admissions Procedure
Parents expressing an interest in the school are asked to complete and return our Registration Form. This may be completed at any time from birth to 18 months prior to entry.
Most girls join in Reception, aged 4+, and each year group is divided into two parallel classes of about 20 pupils. Occasionally places also become available higher up the school.
4+ Entry (Reception)
Applications to register for assessment (for entry in September 2011) close at the end of July 2010.
Parents who have returned a Registration Form are contacted in the spring before the year of entry (for example in Spring 2009 for entry in September 2010) asking them to confirm their wish for their daughter to be assessed for entry, and to submit a £75 (non-returnable) assessment fee. Parents are also invited to reserve a place at one of the Open Days to come and visit the school during the summer term.
Assessments take place at the beginning of the spring term in January of the year of entry and appointment times are sent out at the end of October.
7+ Entry (Year 3)
Some parents register their daughters for entry into Year 3 and they are contacted in the October/November in the year prior to entry. Parents are invited to an Open Morning during the Autumn Term.
The assessment procedures involves ‘a morning' (9.30-12.00 noon) in school during which they are assessed in maths, reading, verbal reasoning and story writing. Each girl also has a brief interview with the Head.
Occasional Places
Occasionally places become available in other years. Candidates will be invited to come for an assessment appropriate to their age. Offers are made to those children who we feel will thrive at Kensington Prep.
Siblings
We would expect most siblings to join us at Kensington Prep, as long as we feel they would thrive. Admission is not automatic, and we reserve the right to turn down those who we judge would develop better in a gentler academic environment.
