A well-structured timetable provides the girls with a relevant and interesting balance of daily activities. The curriculum becomes more subject based as they move through the school, with increased subject specialists, and girls will spend more time in a number of well-equipped specialist teaching rooms over the school day.
The classes are mixed ability throughout the school, though in Years 5 and 6 the girls are put into sets for maths and science.
The school gates open at 8.10am, and girls can play or chat until the bell goes at 8.30 for the start of the school day.
Following Form-time and registration (8.30am) Morning Assembly takes place at 8.45am four days a week.
At mid-morning break milk and a snack are available before playtime. School lunch, prepared by our two chefs, is a highlight for most girls. The older girls often fit in a club before afternoon lessons start at 1.30.
Pre-Prep girls finish at 3.00pm. At the end for the day we run a "sisters" group, for those who need to wait until the older girls come out at 3.40pm. Many clubs run after school.
Every class has the continuity and reassurance of their own form teacher for the academic year. Over this time the form teacher is able to get to know the pupils well and has responsibility for pastoral care.
