With strong links to some of London's best independent schools, and years of success in placing girls in leading educational establishments, we aim to give parents the best support and advice when they are considering their daughter's future.
We prepare pupils for both the London Day Schools system and for boarding, and Year 6 sit these examinations in January. We hold a meeting with parents at the end of Year 4 to explain the process of finding a suitable secondary school, the preparation the school gives the girls, and the support which the school will be giving parents. Over the next two years a great deal of help and advice is given on which schools might be suitable for individual pupils, deadlines, visit times, entrance requirements and possible scholarships.
Towards the top end of Key Stage 2, exam preparation has to come to the forefront. Particularly in the Autumn term of Year 6, we maintain a careful balance between focus on exam technique, crucial to the girls' success, and continuing to deliver a rich and interesting curriculum in the core subjects.
After the examinations we are able to enrich their experiences, starting with a week in France. The rich content and experience of the Summer Year 6 project provide an excellent and rewarding finish to their time at KPS, increases their independence further, and prepares them in a unique way to adapt to secondary school life.
